The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery

The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery

Part of the University Library, the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery is a hidden gem at the heart of the University of Leeds campus.

The Gallery offers innovative contemporary exhibitions and displays treasures from the University Art Collection and the University Library Special Collections.

Entrance is free for visitors to experience the University's exceptional art collection. The collection includes stunning examples of European and British painting, drawings and prints, dating from the 17th century up to the present day, as well as small collections of sculpture, ceramics, miniatures and photographs.

The Gallery has developed enormously since it was first established in 1970. Take a look at our history timeline and see for yourself.

The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery also provides opportunities for schools, community groups, students and teachers to engage with art, education and the University Collections. Our schools and community engagement project, Footsteps into Art, facilitates learning in an art context. We also offer a range of individually tailored workshops.
